Corsicana Mattress to build 376,000-square-foot facility in hometown

CORSICANA, Texas – Corsicana Mattress is investing $22 million to build a 376,000-square-foot facility on 26 acres in its hometown here that will house its corporate headquarters, manufacturing, training center, a showroom and an innovation lab.

Upon completion, the company will relocate its corporate office back to Corsicana from Dallas where it has been located since 2018.

This is the second new factory the company has announced this year and marks the second new factory for the company announced within six months. The company announced its opening of a 165,000-square-foot factory in La Porte, Ind., designed produce boxed beds.

“Our roots run deep in Texas, and it only makes sense that we invest in our business and our employees here,” said Michael Thompson, CEO. “Our growth over the past three years has been significant, and this new facility, designed and built for our needs, will allow us to improve manufacturing efficiencies, as well as house our product testing lab and corporate teams in one location alongside production.

“Corsicana will mark its 50th anniversary in 2021, and what a great way to set the stage for another 50 years by opening this new, world-class facility in Corsicana where we got our start.”

Under the plan, Corsicana will consolidate two older factories in Corsicana under one roof with a larger footprint, and the company says will employ 450 people in Texas.

Located off Interstate 45, the freeway that connects the Texas Gulf Coast to Dallas, the facility will provide easy logistics for truck traffic and high visibility.

Corsicana will manufacture products for its five brands – NightsBridge, Early Bird, Renue, American Bedding and Sleep Inc. – as well as private-label, contract and hospitality lines in the new facility.

“By moving all of our Corsicana operations under one roof instead of two, our production team will net improved, more seamless manufacturing processes,” said James Booth, chief operating officer. “The design of the larger, more modern facility will offer a more efficient workflow, allow us to build on our industry leading product innovation and facilitate our continued growth.”
